A class of first graders receiving books at St.
Augustine's from the Apple a Day program. This program is a literacy
based prevention program that focuses on self esteem, healthy choices,
friendship, safe people, safe places and age appropriate information about
nicotine and alcohol. At the end of the six week program, the students receive
free books donated by the Addictions Care Center of Albany, the agency that
created An Apple a Day.
