From elementary through grade 8, we welcome students to learn some of the most important values and curriculum in a peaceful environment of dedicated educators. Accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, St. Mary’s Academy provides a well-rounded education shaped by faith and high academic standards.

All of St. Mary’s Academy students receive a New York State Standards based curriculum through a variety of learning and teaching styles, including cooperative learning, small group instruction, projects, hands-on activities and large group instruction. While gaining an education steeped in Catholic Faith and traditions, students are also introduced to other faiths and religions.

Our team sports include soccer, basketball, softball and baseball for grades 5-8 and we have two Odyssey of the Mind teams. We greatly encourage parental involvement and an open line of communication between school and home. Parents are welcome to volunteer in various aspects of the day and our stake in the community has been our driving force, as we celebrate 120 years of academic excellence.

Students in grade 8 can take Course A mathematics and/or Regents level Earth science. These are both high school level courses. All students in grade 8 take the Spanish Competency and Proficiency Regents exams.

SMA also administers the NYS English Language Arts and Math exams to students in grades 3-8, and the NYS Science exam to grades 4 and 8 students. Spanish is offered to all Pre-Kindergarten through grade 8 students.

St. Mary’s Academy offers a hot lunch program daily. Free and reduced lunch applications are also available. Bus transportation is available for students by request.

We have partnered with TSL (Togetherness, Sharing & Learning) for the 2011-2012 school year for our After School Care Program. TSL is an organization devoted to providing exceptional childcare specifically designed by elementary school teachers for school-aged children.
