Welcome to St. Augustine School, a school whose tradition is based on an enriched curriculum within a Christian community. Ours is a caring school that works in partnership with parents and the local community to achieve excellent outcomes for all of our students.
St. Augustine’s is a nursery through grade 6 Catholic school located in the Lansingburgh area of Troy. While we are a parish school, we welcome students from all areas and from all faiths who share our philosophy and passion for learning.
Our academic programs meet or exceed the curriculum objectives of both the State of New York Department of Education and the Diocese of Albany Catholic Schools. Our students routinely score better than local public schools on State testing. We offer all of the usual special area subjects (art, music, physical education, media, and computer) plus we offer Spanish to all students starting in kindergarten. Our Pre-K students also participate in physical education, art, and music classes. We are truly unique among elementary schools in that we have our own marching band. Our Father Flanigan Band is open to all students in grades 3, 4, 5 and 6. Our band program is absolutely free—including free loan of an instrument and free weekly lessons.
We offer both a before school program (starting at 7 a.m.) and an after school program (until 5:30 p.m.) for the convenience of working parents. Our own full-time cook prepares both a breakfast and hot lunch each day in our own kitchen. We are part of the Federal School Lunch Program and many of our students qualify for free or reduced lunches. Free bus transportation is available from most surrounding districts.
Last year Business Week Magazine ranked St. Augustine’s School #1 for increased enrollment among all private schools in the tri-city area.
